PALM BEACH GARDENS, Fla.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Authentium today announced its Command Anti-Malware v5 has been chosen to support Microsoft Forefront codename “Stirling,” an integrated security suite that delivers comprehensive protection across endpoints, servers, and the edge that is easier to manage and control.

Authentium’s Command Anti-Malware v5 will be used in Forefront codename “Stirling” server security solutions, such as Forefront Protection 2010 for Exchange Server, Forefront Protection 2010 for SharePoint, and Forefront Protection 2010 for Office Communications Server to provide real-time protection against viruses, spyware, Trojans, and other threats to Microsoft’s corporate customers.

“Authentium provides reliable detection technology that allows us to maintain industry-leading catch rates in our Forefront server security products,” says John Chirapurath, director of the Identity and Security Business Group at Microsoft. “Our collaboration with Authentium will help Microsoft deliver on its Business Ready Security strategy to enable customers to manage risk and empower their people.”

In November 2008, Authentium released the 5th generation of the Command anti-malware engine. The new engine anticipates the evolving threat landscape and has powerful layers of heuristic detection, resulting in industry leading zero-hour detection from viruses and other threats. Command also boasts one of the industry’s largest databases of virus definitions.

“Authentium is strategically aligned behind antivirus partnerships and we provide our partners with access to the highest detection rates, fastest scanning speed, and maximum resource efficiency,” says Doug Brunt, President and CEO of Authentium. “We have worked very closely with Microsoft to develop the best protection possible for Microsoft products and we are very happy to have been selected by Microsoft to continue to grow the relationship.”
